It goes without saying that we truly respect and admire these great bloggers and thank them for being so giving to those of us who are still finding our way on our beekeeping journey. Anyway, lets show you what we think is worth your time:
1. Honey Bee Suite – (honeybeesuite.com)
Rusty is the blogger on this site and she is a master beekeeper and has a selfless interest in sharing information with other beekeepers in the name of protecting all bees. She has practical blogs that would help beekeepers develop from a beekeeper with almost no experience and take them through to being a confident keeper. Nice one Rusty.
2. Beekeeping Like A Girl – (beekeepinglikeagirl.com)
Hilary Kearney is the beauty behind this blog. She tackles many topics that would be on the tip of the tongues of most recreational beekeepers. She often thinks outside the box with blogs topics such as ‘How to keep bees calm’, ‘How to work as a fulltime beekeeper’ and ‘The ten stages of beekeeping addiction’.
3. Buzz About Bees – (buzzaboutbees.net)
This site is bursting at the seams with information. It has been created by Amanda who is trying to draw attention to the plight of bees. She is principally aiming at children however there really is info for anyone wanting to learn more about bees. Kudos to you Amanda.
4. Scientific Beekeeping – (scientificbeekeeping.com)
Randy Oliver is a beekeeping genius. I was fortunate enough to see him present at numerous international apiarist conferences and he is captivating and truly a genius. This is great reading, but you should know it is not always light reading. So if you are looking to push your scientific understanding of bees you should get on over to have look.
5. Bee Health News & Information Facebook Page – (facebook.com/beehealthnewsandinformation)
Not a true bee blog this Facebook page was put out there to push the limits for those who think they have the basics sorted. It can even sometimes challenge those who claim to have a higher IQ! Full disclosure this is a page that we maintain here at HiveKeepers. Have fun with it!
