After harvesting honey with HiveKeepers, you simply return the cassette to the hive and give the harvester a quick clean. There’s no uncapping, filtering, or complex cleanup, making the process fast and easy to finish.
Once you’ve harvested, there are really only two things to do.
1. Return the cassette to the hive
Place the cassette back into the frame and return it to your honey super.
The bees will recognise that the cells are empty and will clean and prepare them for reuse. When the next nectar flow begins, they’ll start filling the cassette again.
There’s nothing else required from you.
2. Clean the harvester
Give the harvester a quick clean after use.
Because there’s no uncapping or filtering, cleanup is minimal. In most cases, a quick rinse with warm water and a wipe down is all that’s needed.
There’s no wax buildup, no sticky tools, and no multiple components to clean.
That’s it.
There’s no long cleanup process, no equipment to disassemble, and no dedicated storage setup required.
What about mess?
The process is very controlled.
The honey flows directly from the cassette into your container, so you’re not dealing with exposed frames, dripping wax, or multiple transfer steps.
Compared to traditional honey extraction, it’s a much smaller, contained process that takes less than a minute to clean up.
