When frustration met determination

Simon isn’t your average inventor. He’s a firefighter with a passion for beekeeping. Like many recreational beekeepers, he loved working with his bees.

But traditional honey harvesting was messy, exhausting, and time-consuming. It meant lugging heavy frames, setting up bulky extractors, and spending hours cleaning up.

In 2021, after yet another exhausting day of honey extraction, Simon said, “There has to be a better way.”

That moment marked the inception of the Micro Honey Harvester. Fueled by his determination to make beekeeping simpler and more enjoyable, Simon set out to create a system that solved the struggles he faced.

From sketches to solutions

Simon’s journey started small, sketching ideas on a notepad after work and experimenting with makeshift prototypes in his backyard. He reached out to other beekeepers, asking what frustrated them most about honey harvesting.

One day, Simon imagined a method so simple and efficient that you could harvest honey in the same time it takes to toast a slice of bread.

Through trial and error, late nights, and countless conversations, Simon developed the Micro Honey Harvester system. His goal was simple:

1. Create a system that’s easy to use.
2. Protect the bees.
3. Deliver clean, fresh honey without the hassle

"I didn’t want to change the way we care for bees. I just wanted to make it easier to enjoy what they give us."

Simon Mildren, Founder & CEO HiveKeepers

The Beginning of HiveKeepers

Founded in 2016, HiveKeepers began with a focus on solving everyday challenges faced by beekeepers.

Over six years, we developed software and hardware tools to help beekeepers manage their hives, monitor bee health, and protect their investments.

But by working closely with beekeepers around the world, we identified a common frustration: the process of honey extraction was messy, time-consuming, and stressful, for both beekeepers and their bees.

This insight sparked the creation of the Micro Honey Harvester, a solution that simplifies honey harvesting without compromising the well-being of the hive.

Honey harvesting shouldn’t be this hard

HiveKeepers worked hand-in-hand with beekeepers to create a solution that:

1. Simplifies honey extraction.
2. Protects bees from unnecessary stress.
3. Reduces the time and effort needed to harvest honey.

The result? A compact, easy-to-use system that simplifies honey harvesting forever.
